Reviews
Delicious food, friendly service, good prices, the Main St. Diner ticks all the boxes for me! We had 1)- sausage and eggs, ham and eggs, and pork chop and eggs with biscuits & gravy. All excellent! We'll be be ordering all the same again shortly!
Wonderful local small town diner with super friendly staff full of great suggestions for out of towners wandering up Rt 66. Great selection on the menu and offers of our drinks to go. Wish we were local so we could visit more often.
Chelsea is having a rough day today. Went to get our under 66 but it was closed. Needed a bite to eat so we stopped at a cool diner. Very cool place reasonably priced good food. The only problem was lack of help. One poor Young Lady was cooking as fast as she could but could not keep up. The Waitress apologized for it taking so long several times. If you are in a hurry to get your kicks down the road this is probably not the place to be. If you are leisurely getting your kicks on the Mother Road take time to enjoy the adventure.
Great value for your money. First time here and the hand it handbattered non frozen onion rings were superb. Add to that a perfectly grilled bun surrounding a burger with grilled onions and a plate full of hand it fries and it is WINNER WINNER BURGER DINNER! Definitely will be back to try other offerings. Wait staff were a little slow but the food was outstanding! Highly recommend.
The best breakfast in Chelsea and for miles around in any direction. I really like this old-fashioned diner/cafe. Small cozy comfortable old building, the walls lined with historical photos and advertising. Welcoming friendly staff keep your coffee cup full and the big menu selection covers all three daily meals. Daily Specials are hand written on the white board by the counter. Grab a table by the window, relax and watch authentic rural Oklahoma life pass by on the street. Or select one of the limited stools at the counter, ponder about the weather for the day with the locals; or visit with the staff and watch Granny make delicious homemade meringue pies. As I was paying the bill, Granny walked by with a chocolate meringue headed to the pie safe (display case). It was stacked high with light fluffy whipped egg whites and then baked just long enough to give it that perfect pie suntan. The young lady at the register said the restaurant had been in business for over 30 years. It is an icon in the community. My wife and I both had the 2-egg breakfast, with bacon (came with four strips of thick smokey bacon), hash browns, and a biscuit with gravy. All cooked country diner perfect. Great service. This is where you eat breakfast on 66. It may be the best for other diner style meals too. I have reliable sources that have rated the burgers here as excellent. Check out the old brick paved street on Pine St. on the N.W. side of the restaurant as you walk back to your car. Across the street viewable from our table, there is a controversial sign on the building stating that Chelsea was the location of the first oil well in Oklahoma. There are three or four other sites in Oklahoma that claim the same, as the first. An unsettled Oklahoma controversy. Quiet, friendly little town, a relaxing diner with excellent food.
